A Marriage of traditional family values to the very latest technical advances provides the key to the enduring and increasing success of the family run business in Herefordshire. The picturesque black-and-white building provides little hint of the expertise and skill offered by the seven-strong team to an ever-growing number of Herefordshire's drivers. Markhams Garage has been an integral element of village life for some 80 years, started in the 1920s by Maurice and Percy Markham and enjoying a huge boom during the war years, providing, among other things, a 24-hour taxi service for the troops stationed locally.
Bryan Markham, who has recently decided to hand over the running of the business to the next generation, joined the family firm in the mid- 60s and embarked on a programme of modernisation and development.
