About the Business
Fairway tyres started trading in 1980 formed and funded by Mr Colin Dickman and run by his eldest son Andrew Dickman. Colin started his career testing tyres for Pirelli, racing around tracks spinning and braking in different conditions assessing how effective the tyres were and how they could be improved, soon Colin went on to the Pirelli sales team and progressively worked the corporate ladder until becoming uk sales manager, having gone so far with Pirelli it was time to move on to bigger and better things and Colin moved to Toyo tyre uk as general manager and helped Toyo to gain a good commercial and earthmover tyre market share in the uk, but it was at this time with a shortage of good, honest, professional tyre depots and Toyo tyres need of a reliable source in the uk to import car tyres that was in 1980 and fairway was born. Fairway started importing Toyo tyres direct from Japan and wholesaled all over the country.
